Stephen Watts - VIC State Manager - Warehouse Division

 

Stephen has been at DGL since: August 2009. He completed High School Year 11., after which he completed Apprenticeship in Fitting & Turning and several certificates such as IATA Certificate of Load Restraint & Weight Distribution, CASA Certificate of Dangerous Goods Awareness, Certificate of Quality Assurance and completion of Leadership Skills Workshop program. Stephen worked for 16 years in Air Freight for various Freight Forwarders at the Melbourne Airport; 2 years as Dispatch Manager with National Springs and 4 years as National Distribution Manager with Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics. His responsibilities in his current roll encompass- but are not limited to - Staff Management; Operations Management; Workplace Health & Safety; Accreditation & Licensing and Personal Profile & Continuous Improvement. Outside of work he coaches Old Essendon Grammarians under 19`s Aussie Rules Football team in the Victorian Amateur Football League.



Shane Maddaford - Site Supervisor VIC - Gilbertson Road

Shane recently joined us in August 2010. In his current position he is responsible for Staff Management; Operations Management; Workplace Health & Safety and Continuous Improvement. He completed Year 11 and holds a Diploma of Logistics and Vecci Health & Safety Certificate and First Aid. He has 20 years of warehousing experience in various roles such as Despatch Manager, Export Team Leader and Warehouse Supervisor in companies such as Diadora/ Wilson, L'Oreal and Woolworths. He enjoys playing golf, going to the gym and gardening.

 

 

 

Steve Dixey - Site Manager SA

 

Steve has been at DGL since April 2006. As the SA Site Manager he manages the day to day warehousing and distribution operations at the Gillman SA site. Steve commenced his career at Medvet Science  PTY LTD and after filling various positions with Coherent Scientific PTY LTD, Australian Air Express International and UTI he joined the DGL team.

 

 

 


Travis Cartwright - Fleet / Contract Manager VIC

Travis has been with DGL since January 2006.  He passed Year 11 and is a qualified chef. He worked around Melbourne and Australia as a chef for 13 years, before starting with DGL as a driver in January 2006. Working his way through he then began in the office operations in 2008 at Stramit Melbourne and helped to setup the newly acquired Stramit contract for DGL in Western Australia in 2009.  Subsequently Travis spent 3 months at the Maria Street warehouse in Laverton in the operations as transport supervisor, before moving on to his current role as Contract Manager for Stramit Melbourne in January 2010. In this role, Travis' responsibilities include the overseeing of all operations and financials at Stramit Melbourne on a day to day basis. Outside of work, Travis' favourite hobbies are waterskiing, Taekwondo and spending quality time with his 2 daughters Madeline and Liliana and his wife Jodi.

 

 

Mick King - Contract Manager SA

 

Mick has been at DGL since August 2004 and with Stramit since being in Adelaide with a different Transport Company. After High School, Mick conducted a TAFE course for 1 year in brick laying and tiling. He spent all his working life with the Steel and Transport Industry, starting with Roll-forming and then spent many years driving around Australia doing Heavy Haulage for the Mining Industry. In his current role, Mick is responsible for the Stramit contract in Adelaide involving 4 trucks and providing the highest standard of service possible on behalf of DGL.
